INSTALLATION
* INSTALLING YOUR NEW VIRUSDEF FILE *
Virus definition file updates are stored in a
compressed format to reduce transmission time. To
install your update, create a temporary folder,
then copy the file you downloaded to that folder.
Next, unstuff the file with Aladdin Systems╒
Stuffit Expander, then double-click the VirusDef
Installer file. The installer will copy the file
to the appropriate folder in your System folder.
* WHERE YOUR VIRUS DEFINITION FILE GETS INSTALLED *
The installer places a new virus definition file in
this location:
System Folder:Preferences:VirusScan:Virus Definitions:
VirusDef 9803 = Virus definition data

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Macro viruses are named using this standard:
The first of a family is given "name.A". For each
subsequently discovered variant, the suffix letters
progress until they reach .Z. The next variant
receives the suffix .AA; naming continues in this
fashion until it reaches .AZ, at which point the
name shifts to .BA, etc. and continues until .ZZ.
If further variants appear, their names would
end with the sequence .AAA.
A reference to a macro virus name without a
variant notation means all variants of that virus.
